Passionate about Country, Rock and Americana, Hicktown Breakout bring a fresh, upbeat vibe to their unique style of Southern Country Rock music.
Hicktown Breakout: Southern Spirit, British Roots
Established in 2019, the Bristol-based collective Hicktown Breakout has carved a unique niche in the UK music scene by fusing the raw power of Southern Rock with the storytelling heart of Americana. Their "eclectic mix of country, rock, and blues" is built on engaging lead vocals and powerful backing harmonies, designed to bridge the gap between "fun and serious" music.
Career Milestones & Chart Success:
The band made an immediate impact with their self-titled debut EP in November 2019, which reached #3 on the iTunes UK Country Chart and #36 in the all-genre UK Album Charts.
They followed this success in 2021 with the release of the Lost Myself EP, which achieved the #1 spot on the iTunes UK Country Chart. Their singles, including "Born To Be Free" and "Get Your Boots On," have also enjoyed significant chart and radio success, with the latter reaching the Top 10 of the HUGS US Radio Chart.
A New Era:
In early 2026, the band entered a new chapter by welcoming MJ Reynolds as their new frontman. MJ’s energy and vocal passion have seamlessly integrated into the band's high-octane live performances, as evidenced by their debut at London's "Lil' Nashville".
International Reach:
Hicktown Breakout’s appeal extends far beyond the UK. They have received airplay across Australia, Europe, and the United States, and have been featured on BBC Radio & BBC Live Lounge. Their accolades include multiple nominations for the Texas Sounds International Music Awards and reaching the final stages of the "Battle of the Bands" for a main stage slot at Glastonbury.
Whether they are raising awareness for mental health through singles like "Lifting The Fog" or igniting festivals with their rowdy "party tunes," Hicktown Breakout remains dedicated to one goal: taking something amazing out of a small town and showing it to the world.
